RPSF at a Glance

RPSF was founded in 2007 in Montreal by a group of seasoned public relations professionals. A registered charity with the Canada Revenue Agency, RPSF has been active in Quebec since 2009 and is steadily growing its presence across Canada and abroad.

Purpose

The international community, including the United Nations, has recognized the critical importance of addressing the information and communication needs of marginalized and vulnerable populations. It has come to understand the role that communication can play in empowering individuals to influence the decisions that shape their lives.

In this spirit, RPSF contributes to the achievement of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals by building communication capacity in developing countries.

Vision

Dozens of public relations professionals and aspiring students who feel the call to give back share a common drive: to put their expertise at the service of communities that could benefit from it, but have no access to this type of knowledge.

That is what inspired our vision, and what continues to guide it today:
Making communications and public relations expertise accessible to all.

RPSF carries out projects in developing countries in collaboration with its NGO, non-profit, and public sector partners. Our volunteer-driven interventions, including consulting, training, and coaching are designed to help local organizations supported by our partners become more effective, sharpen their strategic thinking, and ultimately achieve their goals for the direct benefit of the populations they serve.

Mission

RPSF draws on the principles of development communication to maximize the impact of its projects.

In doing so, RPSF engages the communications and public relations sector in developed countries to support those in the developing world.

Values

Our volunteers and partners share the same core values:

  • Simplicity
  • Solidarity
  • Integrity
  • Professionalism

General Objectives

  • Harness the power of public relations to help improve living conditions, education, and sustainable social and economic development in the communities where RPSF deploys its projects.
  • Promote public relations as a strategic management function that contributes to the achievement of social and economic goals and, ultimately, to democratic life.
  • Serve as a gathering place for public relations professionals and students who wish to dedicate their time and skills to humanitarian causes.
